Welcome to Croatia and its capital, Zagreb! Upon arrival, you will be greeted at the airport with a personalized sign and transferred to your accommodation. Zagreb’s city center is easily walkable, so there’s no need to worry about getting lost. All major attractions, restaurants, and cafés are within walking distance.
Your guide will meet you at the hotel and take you to the historic city center. During the tour, you will explore the charming Upper Town, strolling through narrow streets filled with stories from the past. Highlights include the Stone Gate, the Grič Cannon, and St. Mark’s Church. You will also discover the elegant Lower Town, known for its Austro-Hungarian architecture, green parks, and lively pedestrian zones where locals love to relax. Of course, a visit to the famous Dolac Market is a must.
Today you will leave Zagreb and drive toward Istria, stopping at interesting locations along the way. You will visit Hum, officially known as the 'smallest town in the world.' This charming hilltop settlement is famous for its Glagolitic heritage. The Glagolitic script is the oldest known Slavic alphabet and an important part of Croatian history. After visiting Hum, you will continue through the beautiful interior of Istria toward your final destination for the overnight stay. Istria is the largest Croatian peninsula, known for its rich history, olive oil, wines, and truffles. Its western coast — including towns such as Umag, Novigrad, Poreč, and Rovinj — is especially popular. Fun fact: Istria has been named the best olive oil region in the world multiple times.
Today you will explore inland Istria, often referred to as 'Little Tuscany' due to its rolling hills and agricultural landscapes. On your way to Motovun, you will pass through the charming villages of Grožnjan and Oprtalj. Grožnjan is known as an artists' colony, while Oprtalj is a perfect lunch stop with beautiful views. Motovun is a medieval hilltop town dating back to the 13th century, famous for its three layers of defensive walls and panoramic views over the Mirna River valley. The area around Motovun is renowned for its truffles. In fact, one of the largest truffles ever discovered was found here. If you wish to taste local specialties, truffles should definitely be at the top of your list.
Today you will explore the southern part of the Istrian peninsula, visiting Rovinj and Pula. Rovinj is one of the most picturesque towns in Istria, often featured on postcards. Its cobbled streets, art galleries, small piazzas, and Venetian-style houses create a romantic atmosphere. At the top of the old town stands the Church of St. Euphemia, offering beautiful views over the Adriatic Sea. Later, you will continue to Pula, the largest city in Istria. Pula is famous for its impressive Roman Amphitheater (Arena), built in the 1st century and one of the largest surviving Roman amphitheaters in the world. We also recommend visiting the Arch of the Sergii and exploring other Roman remains. Afterward, you may visit the Istrian Olive Oil Museum for a guided tasting and learn more about the region's world-class olive oils.
Today you will leave the beautiful Istrian peninsula and drive inland toward Plitvice Lakes National Park. On the way, you may stop in Opatija (and optionally Rijeka). Opatija is an elegant coastal town known for its Lungomare seaside promenade. Unlike typical Mediterranean towns, Opatija features Austro-Hungarian architecture, as it was once a prestigious summer resort for aristocracy. After your stop, you will continue to your accommodation near Plitvice Lakes.
Plitvice Lakes National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a must-visit destination in Croatia. The park features 16 interconnected emerald and turquoise lakes, over 90 waterfalls, wooden walking paths, and lush beech and pine forests. Although guided tours are available at the entrance (optional and at extra cost), the trails are well marked and easy to follow. You will receive a map at the entrance, and we will advise you on the best route based on your preferences. After exploring the park, you will continue your journey toward Split.
Discover the historic center of Split, a UNESCO World Heritage Site built from beautiful white stone. During this guided walking tour, you will explore Diocletian’s Palace — a 1,700-year-old living monument that blends Roman ruins with medieval architecture. Your guide will share fascinating historical stories and provide local tips, including restaurant recommendations.
Today you will explore the Pelješac Peninsula, the second-largest peninsula in Croatia, known for its natural beauty, seafood, and wine. We highly recommend walking the Ston city walls — one of the town's main highlights. If there is one place in Europe to try fresh oysters, this is it. Oyster tasting in Mali Ston Bay can be arranged upon request. Pelješac is also Croatia's premier red wine region, home to the renowned Dingač wine. The vineyards grow on steep slopes (up to 70 degrees), and since 1964 the Dingač designation has been legally protected. Optional winery visits can be arranged.
You will visit Ston, famous for:
Dubrovnik is one of the world’s finest and best-preserved medieval cities. After breakfast, meet your guide and explore the UNESCO-protected Old Town. You will hear fascinating stories about Dubrovnik's history and the powerful Republic of Ragusa.
Today is your departure day. Thank you for visiting Croatia. We hope you enjoyed your stay and will return home with wonderful memories. You will be transferred to the airport according to your flight schedule.
